Clos 58
Gilles, Marc, Sylvie, and Victoire – Caramony, Roussillon
Four friends, two born in 1958, had a dream to make wine together. Clos 58 made it a reality.
Clos 58 is nestled in the heart of Roussillon – the Caramany terroir – between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea. The plots are close to the village of Cassagnes. At over 400m altitude, the vines are cleansed by the Tramontane (northern) winds that allow eco-responsibility.
Lush landscapes of garrigue, cooler lagoons, and ancient vineyards all held in a subtle balance. These exceptional terroirs give the wines strength, character, and freshness.
The team focus on two grapes: Carignan & Syrah. Three cuvées exude the beauty of each grape and their blending potential to explore flavours of complexity.
From the outset, Clos 58 practice sustainable agriculture with official BIO status awarded July 2023.
Low intervention, let nature play. The team have separate winemaking for each plot; all hand-harvested, controlled barrel & tank aging. Clos 58's mission is to preserve the concentrated flavour expression of each vine.
The portfolio is in high demand across the world's toughest wine buyers – Michelin starred bistros & restaurants in Paris. Marc, a Parisian judge by day, delivers their pride & joy by hand!
And we are very happy indeed to bring these wonderful wines to our UK wine lovers.
